Disney’s Boardwalk Resort combines the luxury of a Disney World Deluxe Hotel with the classic boardwalk feel of a Jersey Shore town. However, much like the Jersey Shore, Disney’s Boardwalk is undergoing massive changes, leaving large portions empty. Here are some of the changes coming to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. The BoardwalkDisney’s iconic Boardwalk is undergoing significant changes. A number of stores and restaurants are closing without anything to replace them. While these storefronts have closed, Disney has not announced anything to take their place, leaving large empty spaces on the Boardwalk. Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar, closed early this year on the Boardwalk. While the bar has vowed to reopen somewhere else on Disney’s property, there have been no further announcements on when that might occur. Jellyrolls was also one of the few bars in the EPCOT resort area that stayed open well after the parks closed, leaving another hole for guests to fill. With that large building, any number of new bars or restaurants could occupy that space. However, Disney still has not announced anything new. Closer to the center of the Boardwalk, the Big River Grille and Brewing Company closed last year. Again, this left a significant hole in the Boardwalk, and Disney has yet to announce a replacement. No information has been provided on whether the gallery will move somewhere else on Disney’s property or if it is just closing for good. Starting at the end of October, three buildings on Disney’s Boardwalk will be empty, and there are no signs of Disney putting anything new in those spaces. Boardwalk HotelThis week, Disney announced that the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations will close for an extended refurbishment beginning in January 2027. The construction is expected to conclude in April 2027. While the main pool at the resort will be closed, the two quiet pools on Boardwalk’s property will remain open during this renovation. If you plan to stay at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, remember that it will undergo major changes over the next few years. Some of those changes are already known, while others are still in the works.
