Jose Mourinho is set for a sensational return to former club Benfica after the sacking of Bruno Lage.Mourinho is the prime candidate to replace Lage, who was sacked after Tuesday night’s shock 3-2 defeat to Qarabag in their Champions League opener.The former is available after being sacked at Fenerbahce and now looks set to return to Portuguese football for the first time in over two decades. He moved on to União de Leiria and then Porto, with the latter role catapulting Mourinho in the consciousness of the football world.
