You like anything. It’s like your missus in the morning. You’re like, ‘yeah, positive day today, can’t wait to go to bed tonight.’“But then you get that positive energy that’s within the football club and the manager projects that.GettyThe under pressure United’s boss’ positivity is fading according to Bentley[/caption]“Then slowly, you see the wheels turn. Then he’s turning up as if he can’t be bothered.“He started making us train in the evenings and he started doing random things. It was like he was trying to get sacked. You felt it.“After being so excited, that was a big sort of negative for me when I look back and reflect on it.”Bentley made just nine appearances under Ramos following his move from Blackburn to Spurs in July 2008.He scored once in those matches in a UEFA Cup clash with Wisla Krakow, which proved to be the final win of Ramos’ reign. His exit came after a run of one win in 11 across all competitions to start the season.Bentley was signed by Ramos just three months before he was sacked by SpursGettyIt followed a disruptive summer at the club which included the departures of several key players despite Bentley’s arrival. The 41-year-old added: “It was a difficult start to life at Tottenham.“I think in the pre-season, we played Roma at home. I scored a couple of goals.“I think we played Celtic away in Amsterdam. I scored there. But as a team, and me individually, we were flying into the season.“Then it was the summer that (Robbie) Keano left, (Dimitar) Berbatov went. And you just had the drama, we didn’t replace him quickly enough.”Asked about the players’ reaction to those transfers, he said: “(Daniel) Levy was dragging the deal out, how he does. So it caused a little bit (of sulking).”The Spaniard acted like he ‘trying to get sacked’ at the end of his reign says BentleyGettyBentley went on to spend six years at Spurs, although he would be sent out on loan four times before his departure in 2013.Meanwhile, Ramos returned to management just two months later by taking charge at Real Madrid before spells in Russia, Ukraine and with Malaga.
