While Samsung may not bring significant battery improvements with the Galaxy S26 series, it might focus on enhancing the display, a historic strength of the South Korean firm. A Chinese firm may have indirectly suggested potential improvements for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display.Galaxy S26 Ultra could use Samsung Display's best OLED paneliQOO, a subsidiary of Vivo, has begun teasing its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15. This phone features Samsung Display’s latest and most advanced OLED panel. Interestingly, tipster @UniverseIce suggests that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also utilise the same OLED panel. It is a 6.85-inch OLED panel with QHD+ resolution, up to a 144Hz variable refresh rate, and 3,200Hz touch sampling rate. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. More importantly, it uses a new emitting material called ‘M14' that brings improved brightness, better power efficiency, and improved longevity. Moreover, it uses a polariser-free design, thanks to the Color-Filter-on-Thin-Film-Encapsulation (CoE) technology. This technology was first used in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and has been used in all Galaxy Z Fold series phones released since then.As the traditional polarizer blocks a lot of light emitted from the pixels, it reduces the overall brightness figures. However, the new OLED panel doesn't use a polarizer, so it can emit more light, resulting in higher brightness without consuming more power. As a result, the new panel offers up to 1,000 nits of manual brightness, up to 2,600 nits of full-panel peak brightness, and up to 6,000 nits of local peak brightness (for HDR content). This is significantly higher than the Galaxy S25 Ultra's 2,600 nits peak local brightness figure for HDR.iQOO claimed that the M14 panel offers 44% improved power efficiency and 50% longer lifespan compared to the previous generation. As a result, the Galaxy S26 Ultra's display could have better colors, higher brightness, improved sustained performance, and improved power efficiency. It is a better panel than the one used in the recently launched iPhone 17 series.A previous report claimed that the phone also has a Privacy Display feature that hides content on the screen from off angles, stopping others from checking what is on your phone's screen. So, combined with the new panel and the privacy feature, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could turn out to be a display marvel. The post Galaxy S26 Ultra’s brilliant display features revealed appeared first on SamMobile.
