Samsung introduced the Auto Blocker feature with One UI 6. It's a safety measure which, among other things, prevents the installation of apps from unauthorized sources. If enabled, Auto Blocker wouldn't allow side loading of apps through APK. You could either have the feature on or off, there was no middle ground. So either you have the ability to side load but lose out on the additional protections or keep everything locked down and don't side load. It appears that One UI 8.5 has a fix for this. Have Auto Blocker enabled automatically after 30 minutesIn addition to blocking apps from unauthorized sources, Auto Blocker also blocks commands from USB sources, thus securing it from hacks and other security threats. It also blocked malware images in messaging apps. Those are great features to have, but app enthusiasts don't want to lose out on the ability to side load apps, hence the conundrum. Either leave it off all the time or manually toggle it every single time. If you forgot to turn it back on again, you'd remain exposed to those threats. AndroidAuthority has spotted code in the recent One UI 8.5 leak which reveals that Samsung is now working on a middle ground. It will provide users with the option to have Auto Blocker turned on automatically 30 minutes after it was turned off. This will ensure that users remain protected even if they temporarily disable the feature to side load apps. The post One UI 8.5 may fix one of Auto Blocker’s biggest frustrations appeared first on SamMobile.
