By its first Monday, Jolly 3 still trending above the 2017 sequel, which starred Akshay in the lead role. On Monday (day 4), Jolly LLB 3 earned Rs 5.5 crore, which is a massive drop from its Sunday (day 3) earnings of Rs 21 crore. That was a slight improvement on its Saturday (day 2) collection of Rs 20 crore, after a significant spike from its opening day earnings of Rs 12.5 crore on Friday. The total domestic box office collection of the film after four days is Rs 59 crore. In comparison, Jolly LLB 2, also helmed by Kapoor, earned around Rs 57 crore in its first four days at the domestic box office, back in 2017. The franchise kicked off with Kapoor’s Jolly LLB in 2013, starring Warsi. That film did a domestic box office business of Rs 43.78 crore, emerging as a hit given its budget was only Rs 12 crore.Jolly LLB 2, made on a budget of Rs 30 crore, went on to be an even bigger hit, earning Rs 117 crore at the India box office. The threequel may finish higher than this benchmark given it has no major competition in the next 10 days, right up to October 2. Shashank Khaitan’s romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, and the dubbed Hindi version of Rishabh Shetty’s Kannada mythological action epic Kantara: Chapter 1 are slated to release on that day. When compared to Akshay’s biggest hits, neither of the Jolly LLB films is in the top 10. He delivered his biggest hit in 2019 with Farhad Samji’s comedy Housefull 4, which earned Rs 210.3 crore at the domestic box office. His other top-scoring films include Good Newwz (Rs 205.09 crore), Mission Mangal (Rs 203.08 crore), Sooryavanshi (Rs 195.55 crore), 2.0 (Rs 190.48 crore), Housefull 5 (Rs 183.38 crore), Kesari (Rs 155.57 crore), OMG 2 (Rs 151.16 crore), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.42 crore), and Rowdy Rathore (Rs 133.25 crore).Jolly LLB revolves around the issue of farmer suicides. Akshay and Arshad play warring lawyers in the same court, who go by the same first name. When Seema Biswas’ desperate and desolate farmer widow approaches them both, they combine forces to fight an evil real estate corporation owned by Gajraj Rao’s character. Also Read — Jolly LLB 3 movie review: Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi combine forces to deliver the weakest film of the franchiseBesides Akshay and Arshad, Saurabh Shukla reprises his role as the judge.
