Non-duty paid liquor worth over ₹19 lakh seized across Telangana

Excise enforcement teams across Telangana seized liquor worth ₹19.65 lakh in a series of raids over the past two days, targeting the illegal transport of non-duty paid alcohol from other States.In the first operation in Pahadishareef, the Rangareddy enforcement team confiscated 252 liquor bottles, valued at approximately ₹12.60 lakh, smuggled into the State from Haryana using cars. The seized bottles were handed over to the Saroornagar excise station for further investigation.Meanwhile, the Shamshabad District Task Force (DTF) seized 135 bottles, valued at ₹6.75 lakh. These had been transported from Goa and Haryana and were handed over to the Chevella excise station.The State Task Force (STF) - C team arrested an individual, identified as Erra Shashanka, operating in Subhash Nagar and SR Nagar areas, recovering nine liquor bottles valued at ₹45,000. The liquor and the accused were handed over to the Ameerpet Excise Station.Another nine bottles were seized from passengers travelling from Delhi, which were handed over to the Secunderabad excise station.
