Tamil actor Robo Shankar dies at 46 after collapsing on set; Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi share tribute

He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here in the city after suffering from a health scare earlier this week. He died from multiorgan failure and a massive gastrointestinal bleed.Robo Shankar fainted on sets during a shoot on Wednesday. He was rushed to a private hospital and admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. However, he didn’t recover and passed away at around 8.30 pm on Thursday evening. He is remembered for his performances in Dhanush’s Maari, Ajith’s Viswasam, Suriya’s Si3, Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai and Vishnu Vishal’s Vellainu Vandhutta Vellaikaran.Robo Shankar’s colleagues and fans have expressed shock on his sudden demise.Actor Kamal Haasan paid tribute to the actor in a heartfelt poem and wrote, “Robo Shankar. Robo is just a pseudonym. In my dictionary, you are a human. You’re my younger brother. Will you just leave me and go? Your job is done, you left. My job remains unfinished. You left tomorrow for us.
