I need help to improve fragrance and skincare copy

Wait 5 sec.

Hello, I've been writing copy for a few months for an e-commerce agency. Recently, we got two new clients: one in fragrances and one in skincare. Since I'm a guy (and a pretty simple one šŸ˜…), I don't know much about these topics or products. Here’s what I struggle with: Fragrance Brand Promotions: We send 3–4 emails for a promo, and I’m not sure how to make them more effective. I struggle to tap into emotions and persuade people to buy. Since I’m not really into fragrances, I don’t fully get why people would spend a lot on them. (I wear perfume just to smell nice — it’s not about status or getting noticed.) The tone is tricky: fun and playful, yet sophisticated. My subject lines and preheaders feel plain. Skincare Brand Same challenges as above. Additionally, they don’t want to make claims like ā€œlook youngerā€ or ā€œsmoother skin.ā€ Instead, they focus on creating a ritual experience for mind and soul, which I find confusing. The tone is extremely luxurious, and the product is very expensive, so I struggle to justify the price in words. I’d love advice or strategies on how to tackle these challenges, especially when it comes to emotional connection, sophisticated tone, and communicating value without being pushy. Thanks! submitted by /u/Claymore98 [link] [comments]
