A Delhi-based chartered accountant tweeted that his client incurred a loss of Rs 29.10 lakh due to glitches on the Income Tax Department portal, leading to a delayed advance tax payment. Despite multiple attempts before the deadline, the client was charged 3% interest. The CA has requested Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to ensure that no taxpayer is penalised because of system inefficiencies.
