It’s been a whirlwind week for Jimmy Kimmel, Bob Iger, ABC, and The Walt Disney Company as a whole. On Wednesday, September 17, Disney and ABC announced they were pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live! from the air, effective immediately. Nexstar Media and Sinclair Broadcasting — two of ABC’s largest affiliate broadcasters — announced they were pulling Kimmel’s show from their networks, and not long after, Disney followed suit with the suspension.Credit: ABC Promotional ImageRelated: Jimmy Kimmel’s Removal: Disney’s Business Decision To Take the Late Night Host off the AirThe backlash against Disney was swift, and the day after the announcement was made, a large group of protestors gathered outside the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California.
