A prominent political figure just mocked Charlie Kirk, oh wait, it was Donald Trump

Wait 5 sec.

Ever since Charlie Kirk’s fatal shooting at a Utah University campus, MAGA and the far right have been targeting vocal individuals they deem to be making light of his death. It will be interesting to see how they respond now that their idol, Donald Trump, has joined in by making a cruel quip about the late Kirk. During an interview with Fox News, the president sat down with Martha MacCallum to discuss the after effects of the assassination and the dangers of social media. During one portion of the interview MacCallum mentions that Kirk did not believe hate speech did not exist. pic.twitter.com/sMof1m9giw— Dominic Michael Tripi (@DMichaelTripi) September 19, 2025 “Charlie said that there was no such thing as hate speech,” MacCallum said, to which Donald Trump responded, “he might not be saying that now.” The internet reacts to what Donald Trump said Trump’s comments were quickly picked up in online circles where people called him out for his insensitive quip. It seems as though the president is allowed to get away with making light of Kirk’s death while others, such as Jimmy Kimmel, are canceled. Shouldn’t we be canceling Donald Trump too? I mean if we’re going to be consistent about this then we probably should right? “This is disgusting and no way to honor Charlie’s legacy.” Wrote one person on X. “TRUMP literally went on fox news  and cracked a joke about Charlie Kirk being dead,” added another. On TikTok, influencers also called for MAGA to rise up and get this man fired. Over the past week and a bit we’ve seen the far right respond with full force to those who have made fun of, or celebrated Kirk’s death. In some cases they’ve even gone as far as to target people for simply not mourning him. Well where is that energy now? The president doesn’t seem to care about Charlie Kirk Trump has been at the forefront of this campaign, he’s claimed to be upset at the death of his “friend” yet his actions don’t seem to match his words.  Many online have expressed skepticism over Trump’s sincerity when it comes to his mourning of Charlie Kirk. They believe that the president is using Kirk’s death to further his agenda against what he labels the “radical left.” Despite claiming Kirk was “like a son” to him, Trump seems relatively unfazed by his death. Recently, when asked by reporters how he was holding up after his death, Trump veered the conversation to the new ballroom being installed in the White House. Mere days after the death the president was also seen smiling and dancing (if you can call it that) at the Yankees game. “Charlie Kirk was like a son to Donald Trump.”Trump last night at a Yankee game: pic.twitter.com/ku1kwtNURr— CALL TO ACTIVISM (@CalltoActivism) September 13, 2025 When are we going to admit that there is a clear double standard here and that all those that have been canceled in the last week-and-a-half have nothing to do with Charlie Kirk and everything to do with them being against MAGA? If people really cared so much about Kirk then they would be equally disgusted by Donald Trump’s words, yet there is no outrage.
