We have some good news for fans of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. For Disney diehards, the Country Bear Musical Jamboree — originally known as the Country Bear Jamboree — stands as one of the company’s defining cult classics. Debuting at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 1971, the show was initially conceived by Walt Disney for a ski resort project that never came to fruition. It was later reimagined as an Audio-Animatronic spectacle, bringing a cast of singing bears to life inside Frontierland’s rustic Grizzly Hall.Credit: DisneyThe attraction quickly gained popularity, blending country tunes, broad humor, and Disney’s signature animatronic technology. Its success spawned duplicate versions at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. The Disneyland iteration ran from 1972 to 2001, while Tokyo’s continues to entertain, complete with seasonal overlays like “Jingle Bell Jamboree.”In 2024, the Magic Kingdom production received a major refresh, adopting a new name and a reworked setlist. The updated show features country-style renditions of Disney classics, including “The Bare Necessities,” “A Whole New World,” and “Try Everything,” all performed by the beloved bear troupe.Credit: DisneyMany of the familiar animatronics remain — Henry, Ernest the “Dude,” and Big Al among them — but earlier this month, one fan-favorite character mysteriously vanished.Teddi Barra’s Mysterious Disappearance, ResolvedTeddi Barra, who traditionally descends from the ceiling on her swing, performs “A Whole New World” from Aladdin (1992) alongside Gomer and Wendell. Recently, her animatronic disappeared from the attraction, leaving only her voice in the sequence and in the finale, where she usually joins the cast for “The Bare Necessities.”Credit: DisneyNow, Teddi Barra is back in the spotlight. As of this week, she has returned to the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Disney has not explained the disappearance, though it appears to have been a brief period of maintenance. The update comes amidst a busy period for Frontierland. Since 2024, major changes have reshaped the land. Splash Mountain officially reopened as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure last summer, followed by the permanent closure of Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat this year to clear space for a new Cars-themed area, Piston Peak National Park.Credit: DisneyLooking ahead, Frontierland is also preparing for the arrival of Villains Land, a large expansion dedicated to Disney’s most iconic antagonists. Plans are already underway on the project, which will include new attractions, dining, and retail.Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also currently closed until 2026 as Disney gives the iconic roller coaster some much needed TLC.What’s your favorite part of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree? The post Disney Changes Country Bear Jamboree at Magic Kingdom (Again) appeared first on Inside the Magic.
