Christian Pulisic’s role for AC Milan’s Saturday Serie A showdown with Udinese is undetermined at this time. AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has yet to determine if Pulisic will start or come off the bench ahead of Saturday’s league match. Pulisic played 25 minutes in a 1-0 win over Bologna on September 14, which was the Rossoneri’s first match back following the international break. The U.S. men’s national team star has started in two of his four club appearances this summer, scoring twice in all competitions. However, after a busy pair of USMNT appearances against South Korea and Japan, Pulisic’s fitness has been closely monitored by Allegri, as he tries to keep his star forward on the field for the bulk of the upcoming season. “Pulisic is much better, he came on and did well [against Bologna]. He’s a truly good player,” Allegri said at his prematch press conference on Friday. “Tomorrow I’ll decide whether to start him. On Tuesday we have another important knockout game. “Christian was out for a while with his ankle, then he returned from international duty,” Allegri added. “He’s a strong player, he can play 30, 60, 90 minutes. He’s strong, but when he’s on the pitch he’s an impactful player.”AC Milan will take on Udinese on Saturday before facing Lecce in Coppa Italia play four days later. The Rossoneri will also face reigning league champions Napoli and title hopefuls Juventus in the ensuing matches after that, posing an early test for Allegri’s squad in their quest for silverware.
