(File Photo)The Chandigarh Police Operations Cell has arrested two drug peddlers and seized a substantial quantity of contraband, including 9.57 kilograms of ganja and 90.69 grams of heroin.As per the police, on September 17, based on secret information, the police set up a naka near T-Point, Gawala Colony Road, Maloya. Two men riding a dark grey Activa scooter (PB-27-H-4661) were intercepted. They were identified as Rajat (28) and Kulwant (30), both residents of Mundi Kharar, Mohali.During inspection, the police recovered 4.84 kg ganja from Rajat and 4.73 kg ganja from Kulwant, totalling 9.57 kg ganja. The scooter was also seized. An FIR under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act was registered at Maloya police station.In a related matter, a team led by Inspector Jaspal Singh recovered 90.69 grams of heroin from Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi, a resident of Patiala. An FIR under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at Mani Majra police station.Police interrogation revealed that Gurpreet had sourced the heroin from Amritsar to supply in Chandigarh.
