(Source: FB)In his first public event after assuming office on September 12, Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Monday released a book of speeches by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as a living inspiration for millions. He said the Prime Minister was “a living inspiration for millions across the country and abroad, who motivates people through his own conduct to give their very best, who has grown from being a representative of the common man to a true people’s leader, whose determination has shown us how the impossible can be made possible — Namumkin ko Mumkin karna, Asambhav ko Sambhav Karna.”At the event, organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the V-P released two volumes of selected speeches of the PM titled Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. The book includes speeches and Mann Ki Baat addresses delivered by the PM in 2022–2023 and 2023–2024. The V-P said the speeches reflect the PM’s “clarity of thought, forward-looking vision, and commitment to inclusive governance,” a statement said.Citing Swami Vivekananda’s quote — “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached” — the V-P said every speech of the PM carried the same message of “persistence, determination, and public welfare.” He added that the speeches showed the PM’s “360-degree engagement,” covering global and local topics. The V-P, a former Maharashtra Governor, was elected on September 9 after defeating the Opposition’s candidate, retired Supreme Court Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, by a margin of 152 votes. The election was precipitated by the sudden resignation of then Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21. Dhankhar, who was elected in 2022 and had a term until 2027, cited health reasons for resigning. The move, however, was seen as controversial. Before resigning, Dhankhar had presided over proceedings of the Rajya Sabha that day, when he announced in the House that he had received a motion for impeachment against Justice Yashwant Varma. This, sources said, had rubbed the government the wrong way as it wanted to start the impeachment process in the Lok Sabha.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Narendra Modi
