Anantapur Rural MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad has said Anantapur city is witnessing development in the past one year only and development took a back seat in the five years of the previous government.The MLA along with Anantapur Municipal Commissioner Balaswamy laid foundation for the construction of new BT roads and road dividers in Housing Board Colony of the city on Sunday (September 21). Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasad said works to the tune of ₹2 crore have been started in the Housing Board Colony and asked officials to maintain standards and complete the works in time.He said the city was in a bad shape during the tenure of the previous government but it is witnessing development now. He said roads and drainage problems will be resolved and the dumping yard, which had become a major issue for the past 30 years, will be cleared soon and a park will come up at the place.Published - September 21, 2025 05:04 pm IST
