As part of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Kannur Malabar Cancer Care Society has launched a month-long campaign featuring awareness programmes and screening camps across Kannur, Kasaragod, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts, beginning October 1.The initiative is part of the Breast Cancer Brigade Project, launched in 2017 to curb the rising incidence and mortality of breast cancer in Kerala, said D. Krishnanath Pai, President of the Malabar Cancer Care Society, Kannur. He added that this year’s campaign will include village-level awareness sessions and expert screening camps offering mammograms, ultrasounds, and FNAC tests through the state-of-the-art Sanjeevani Mobile Tele-On-Net unit.The camps are being organised in collaboration with Lions, Rotary, Wise Men’s Club, palliative care units, libraries, and other voluntary organisations.
