The incidents sparked outrage among residents who raised concern on pothole-ridden roads in the state.In Palghar district, a 19-year-old youth, Smit Hemant Patil of Pikh village in Wada taluka, died on Tuesday morning when his scooter allegedly skidded on the pothole-ridden Wada–Bhiwandi highway and he came under a trailer moving behind him.He was employed with a private company in Vasuri and was the only earning member in his family.Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at Wada police station.In another incident in Nagpur, 25-year-old Mahendra Fating died late Tuesday night after his two-wheeler fell into a long-unfinished pit near the Deputy Signal underpass in Lakadganj police limits. According to police, an iron rod protruding from the half-constructed cement road pierced his abdomen, leading to fatal internal bleeding. Fating, who worked as a supervisor in a construction material shop, was supporting the education of his younger brothers.
