FIR lodged against woman advocate after high drama in HC complex

As the police dragged their feet, the association then threatened to go on an indefinite strike if no action was taken.An FIR has been registered at Sector 3 police station against advocate Ravneet Kaur and her associate Simran Singh Blassi under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126 (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a day of chaos inside the Punjab and Haryana High Court complex.The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has demanded their immediate arrest, alleging that the two created panic, assaulted members of the Bar, and disrupted proceedings. In an urgent notice, the association warned of an indefinite strike if prompt police action was not taken.According to the notice, the trouble began when Ravneet accused the Bar Association Secretary Gagandeep Jammu of confiscating her bag and laptop in Court Room-1. She later entered the executive office with Blassi and allegedly misbehaved with the Secretary and others. In court, she pressed for her matter to be urgently fixed for hearing in Court Room-1, a request allowed despite opposition from nearly 100 members present.As the two exited the courtroom, the situation spiralled. Blassi was allegedly seen roaming inside the premises with a sword and, along with Ravneet, is accused of assaulting members of the Bar. One member was reportedly injured before police intervened and took the duo away.Despite this, the Bar Association alleged, the police were initially reluctant to lodge an FIR. As the police dragged their feet, the association then threatened to go on an indefinite strike if no  action was taken.Ravneet has been a frequent litigant in recent months, filing petitions ranging from financial aid from the Bar Council, which was dismissed earlier this year, to challenges over the allocation of her cases to a particular bench.
