A viral Manchester United fan was grabbed by his hair in a shocking incident at Old Trafford on Saturday.Frank Ilett, who is refusing to cut his hair until the Red Devils win five matches in a row, was in attendance for the win over Chelsea.United fan Ilett has responded after an incident with a fellow supporter at Old TraffordThe United supporter has gained an online following with his The United Strand challenge.Ilett began the challenge on October 5, 2024, vowing not to cut his hair again until his side had won five times on the bounce.However, United have since failed to win more than three matches in a row and have only managed consecutive victories on six occasions.As a result, Ilett is instantly recognisable with his out of control curly hair.A video on social media has shown Ilett was involved in an incident with a fellow supporter during the latest match, though.It occurred as Ruben Amorim‘s side beat Chelsea 2-1 to clinch their second win of the season.Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, who was later sent off, secured all three points for the hosts against the ten-man Blues.Robert Sanchez had been shown a straight red card after just four minutes before Trevoh Chalobah grabbed a late consolation goal.The incident between Ilett and another fan has become a talking point amongst supporters.Footage of their altercation shows Ilett smiling whilst surrounded by fellow supporters before being approached by the fan.A supporter grabbed Ilett’s hair before pulling and shaking it in a shocking momentXHe then shoved Ilett to the ground while still grabbing onto his hairXThey can then be seen grabbing his hair, pulling it and shaking him repeatedly.After onlookers stepped in to pull him away, the fan shouted X-rated abuse towards Ilett before attempting to approach him for second time.In the clip, he can be heard shouting: “F*** off, f*** off, I’ll do what I f****** want. Listen, he’s not a United f****** fan, so f*** off, f*** off.”Despite the confrontation, Ilett remained positive as he reacted to the result following the match.He wrote on social media: “What a place. Wet hair, but still a smile on my face! A big win today! What a crazy game it was in the end! 1 down, 4 to go. COME ON UNITED!”Ilett later addressed the incident directly, telling The Sun: “Yeah, it was a bit weird to be honest!Footage of the incident also shows the fan shouting X-rated abuse at Ilett“I thought he was just joking to start with, but then he started yanking my hair and calling me an ‘attention-seeking c***’.“The whole day was full of hundreds of positive interactions yesterday and 99 per cent of all of the reactions to this challenge has been nice.
