Jon Mallia has announced that his show Il-Każin will be going live on Tuesday evening to help raise funds for Sandro Grech, a 41-year-old father of two who is battling a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia.Mallia said that the show will dedicate its resources to a special live programme aimed at helping raise the €500,000 needed for Sandro’s life saving treatment. More information about the live broadcast is expected to be shared closer to the time.Sandro Grech has been fighting the disease since January 2023 and has already undergone intensive chemotherapy as well as two bone marrow transplants from his brother.His only remaining chance of survival is a highly specialised CD7 CAR T clinical trial available in Singapore, which comes at a cost of €500,000.As of Saturday morning, over €267,000 had already been raised in less than 48 hours through the fundraiser, bringing the total to more than half of the required amount.Without the treatment, doctors have indicated that Sandro has only weeks left to live.
