This week, Walt Disney World Resort delivered a minor, but permanent shake-up at Magic Kingdom Park. Two popular guest experiences have disappeared from the Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus areas of the original Central Florida Disney park, while a new version of the paid offering has appeared in Adventureland.New Addition to Magic Kingdom Park’s AdventurelandCredit: Inside the MagicOn December 17, WDWNT reported that a new face-painting kiosk had opened in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park. The kiosk is located in the former Agrabah Bazaar merchandise location, which is outdoors, but covered. Agrabah Bazaar never reopened following the closure of Walt Disney World Resort during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, though some shelving and closed cash register stands remain in the space. The location has previously been used as a seating area for guests. The new face-painting kiosk is located just steps away from the meet-and-greet area for Princess Jasmine and Aladdin, making face-painting particularly tempting for young guests waiting in line to meet the Disney characters. Guests can peruse the face-painting menu at the entrance to the kiosk or ask Disney cast members for a lookbook to browse. Like at other face-painting locations throughout the Central Florida Disney parks, guests sit in high-top chairs while cast members stand to apply the makeup.Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus Locations CloseCredit: Jeremy Thompson, FlickrUnfortunately, the new face-painting kiosk is replacing two others that have permanently closed, according to Disney cast members. The location near Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland bathrooms, which had been present for many years, has disappeared.Additionally, the Storybook Circus face-painting kiosk, which replaced a merchandise cart that also closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, has permanently ceased operations. That kiosk had only been open for about a year.Credit: DisneyWalt Disney World Resort has not explained the decision to replace two shuttered face-painting kiosks at the Magic Kingdom with one.
