The police registered a case after a medical examination and detained four persons for interrogation by midday.The incident allegedly took place before daylight when the five-year-old child, who lives with her parents and grandmother in kachha houses, went for a morning ablution while the rest of the family were asleep.When she entered the house crying, the family asked her what had happened and the child described the assault, following which the family approached police.ASP Ayush Jain said that the police had immediately begun an investigation and had already detained four persons who were being interrogated. Further investigation is underway.In a statement on Monday afternoon, Isudan Gadhvi, the Gujarat chief of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said, “This is a jungle raj-like situation in Gujarat. Three girls were raped in 10 days. Today, an incident of rape of a young girl took place in Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar, while earlier, a girl was also raped in Atkot, Rajkot.
