Gary Lineker’s podcast company is set to rake in a staggering £14million from Netflix during next summer’s World Cup.The former Match of the Day host will present his popular The Rest Is Football podcast from New York during the showpiece tournament.Lineker, Richards and Shearer will present the popular podcast from the World Cup next summerAnd that means a huge windfall for the 65-year-old Goalhanger production company after they agreed a lucrative eight-figure deal with streaming giant Netflix.Here comes the moneyAccording to The Times, his earnings will amount to ten times more than his old BBC wages where he earned £1.35m a year prior to his exit from the broadcaster in May.Lineker will not be alone in the Big Apple next summer with regular guests Micah Richards and Alan Shearer also providing their insight on the tournament.The likeable trio will be joined by different guests including some big names from the world of football.The pod will provide regular updates from inside the England camp and from across the fan zones scattered around venues throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.With over seven million streams each month, The Rest Is Football is one of the most popular sports pods in the world.A source close to The Sun revealed that Lineker is thrilled by the Netflix deal.“It’s a really exciting deal and Gary is thrilled. The business model of excellent production with engaging presenters means that they are the first choice of many listeners.”Lineker, who maintains control of the company, set up the production company with former ITV boss Tony Pastor and the ex-BBC executive Jack Davenport.
