A partir da pré-seleção, os votantes são obrigados a conferirem as produções que têm chance de avançarem para a próxima etapa.Para Melhor Filme Internacional, por exemplo, longas de 86 países ou regiões eram elegíveis na categoria, segundo o The Hollywood Reporter.
