The last few weeks have been quite turbulent for our favorite pizza-munching heroes in a half shell. Although the Paramount+ series has been canceled, its second season is now streaming on the platform — it just marks the swift end of the latest small-screen cartoon iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.As for The Last Ronin, the studio revealed that it’s moving forward with a project with mass audience appeal, especially seeing as it will be the franchise’s first live-action film in theaters since 2016’s Out of the Shadows, which was a box-office disappointment. In The Last Ronin‘s place with be a new untitled reboot that’s been given a November 2028 release date.Credit: Paramount PicturesMutant Mayhem 2 is also moving ahead — that’s scheduled for release in September next year. But today also marks the release of a brand-new TMNT movie.Releasing with Paramount’s latest feature-length film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, which released on December 19, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Chrome Alone 2 – Lost in New Jersey is a short film whose title directly references the holiday classic sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992).
