Well-know Hyderabad-based artist Kavita Deuskar passed away on December 26 morning. “She complained of breathlessness and while being taken to a hospital breathed her last,” informed a fellow artist. Her husband predeceased her.She was the daughter of artist Sukumar Deuskar and granddaughter of Ramkrishna Waman Deuskar. A large portrait of Salar Jung-III at the entrance of the museum was painted by her grandfather. The artist community expressed grief at her passing.“My teacher, a senior and prolific artist, and a great guiding force. She taught us the discipline and beauty of the egg tempera technique with grace and patience.
