Joe’s best horse racing betting tips for Kempton Christmas Festival 2025 Saturday

Wait 5 sec.

Saturday at Kempton Park is all about two proper Christmas staples, with the Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase and the Desert Orchid Chase taking centre stage. The Wayward Lad remains a key test for emerging novice chasers, while the Desert Orchid often gives us a clearer picture of the established two-mile pecking order at the track. With the King George already run the day before, Saturday’s action is more about form solidification than future clues. Seeing who handles Kempton’s sharp layout, who backs up well over Christmas and where the value sits in races that are rarely straightforward. I’ve picked out the key Kempton tips and betting angles to help you take on a cracking post-King George card.Top Kempton’s Christmas Festival offerKempton Christmas Festival (Saturday) tips12.45 Maestro Conti –evens with Ladbrokes1.20 Star Walking – 6/1 each way with Ladbrokes1.55 Mambonumberfive – 5/2 with Paddy Power NAP2.30 Saint Segal – 4/1 with William Hill3.07 Kap Vert – 11/4 with Betfred NEXT BEST3.37 Trustintimes – 5/1 with BetVictor*odds provided are correct at the time of writing and are subject to change.Joe’s best horse racing betting tips for Kempton’s Christmas Festival on Saturday (27th December)Find my top tips for Saturday’s racing with odds from the best horse racing bookies below:12.45 ‘Get Your Ladbrokes Free Kempton Bet’ ‘Introductory’ Juvenile Hurdle (Class 2) 2mThe way SONIC PIONEER jumped and travelled en route to a 14-length victory over C&D last month was mightily impressive. The third Dissident won next time out at Doncaster so the form has already been given a boost. This track clearly played to his strengths and with improvement to come I’m expecting him to follow up against these and make it a perfect 2-2 over hurdles.Manlaga is an interesting filly for Nicky Henderson. She won on debut at Auteuil and has since been snapped up by connections so could be a nice prospect and it will be interesting to see how she fares in the market. Minella Yoga also looked good winning on hurdles debut in Ireland and now with Paul Nicholls is another one worth noting. Bet on MAESTRO CONTI to win at 1/1 with Ladbrokes 1.20 ‘Join Ladbrokes Bet 5 Get 30’ Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 3m121yThere are plenty in with a chance here but ROCKOLA VOGUE could continue her progression and looks a mare worth keeping on side for now. She has won 3 of her last 4 and arrives on a hat-trick after bolting up at Bangor and then beating Star Walking convincingly at Ascot last month. She is 6lb higher but remains unexposed over this trip and could complete the hat-trick.Star Walking is likeable and is entitled to improve for that reappearance run so could be the danger (second time out following a wind op too). Gaye Legacy was behind the pair at Ascot but is another one who usually steps forward from her reappearance run so at bigger odds could run well. Bet on STAR WALKING Each Way at 6/1 with Ladbrokes 1.55 Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) 2m9 of the last 12 winners were aged 5 or 611 of the last 12 winners were in the top 3 in the betting8 of the last 12 winners were rated 148 or higher as a chaser9 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous win in a Graded raceSir Gino won this last year so that tells you about the calibre of horse that usually wins this race. I know MAMBONUMBERFIVE is only a 4yo but he has been so impressive since going over fences and I think he can continue his progression here. He beat Highlands Legacy on chase debut at Aintree and then followed up winning convincingly at Newbury. He had Mighty Bandit 2 lengths back in second and that horse has since won a good race at Newbury so the form has been franked. He will improve again and is the one to side with.Lump Sum was really impressive on chase debut at Uttoxeter beating Jax Junior who franked the form and wasn’t disgraced third behind Lulamba at Sandown so with more to come again can give the selection most to think about here. Hansard looked good at Lingfield but this is a fair bit tougher so he will be tested. Bet on MAMBONUMBERFIVE to win at 5/2 with Paddy Power 2.30 Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Handicap Chase (Grade 2) 2m9 of the last 12 winners were aged between 6 and 88 of the last 12 winners were in the top 3 in the betting10 of the last 12 winners were rated 153 or higher9 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous win in a Graded raceIt has been a remarkable training performance from Dan Skelton to get Thistle Ask to win four in a row including the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter last time. He actually had SAINT SEGAL 7 lengths behind on that occasion but I’ll be surprised if he manages to confirm that form here. The latter seems really progressive now and put in a huge performance to win by 5 and a half lengths at Kelso earlier this month. Things have really clicked and with this track likely to suit I think he’ll come out on top now.Thistle Ask could go too hard and set it up for the closers so I’m not actually putting him forward as the danger. Ryan’s Rocket impressed pegging back Javert Allen at Newbury and if building on that again could be the one that gives the selection most to think about. Boothill has looked regressive both starts this season but if rediscovering any of his old form he would also be a player in a race like this.  Bet on SAINT SEGAL to win at 4/1 with William Hill 3.07 Ladbrokes ‘Big Football Bet Builder Boosts’ Handicap Chase (Class 3) 3mI know they have always thought a lot of KAP VERT so it was good to see him make a winning chase debut at Taunton. He was really impressive too staying on strongly to win by 7 and a half lengths. He is open to improvement off the back of that and looks a horse to keep firmly on side here and going forward this season. This is tougher but they have likely had it in mind for him all along so I’m expecting another big performance.Montregard has won his last two and did impress at Ascot last month. His overall profile is a progressive one so with more to come he could ask a few questions here. Sea Invasion was really poor on reappearance but if that has blown away some cobwebs at a much bigger price he might be able to hit the frame and could be worth a saver.Bet on KAP VERT to win at 11/4 with Betfred 3.37 Ladbrokes ‘Get Rewarded With Ladbrokes’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 2mNo horse arrives in better form than TRUSTINTIMES and if he continues his progression here he should be able to complete the five-timer for Harry Fry. He is already a C&D winner and then added a couple of wins at Uttoxeter before impressing at Ascot beating Fortune De Mer. That horse has since won on the bridle at Cheltenham so the form has been given an almighty boost. He is up 6lb but that doesn’t look enough to stop him saluting the judge once more.Rubber Ball didn’t go unbacked at Aintree but was only fourth behind the progressive Bear Market. If he improves he could be one of the dangers here. Wandering Ego was fourth behind Old Park Star over C&D last month and if finding this easier is another one in with a chance as he brings untapped potential to the table for Olly Murphy. Bet on TRUSTINTIMES Each Way at 5/1 with BetVictor My top tip for Saturday’s racing at Kempton’s Christmas FestivalI’m looking forward to seeing MAMBONUMBERFIVE out again and hopefully he can remain unbeaten over fences. I have doubled him up with KAP VERT who was so impressive on chase debut and is open to stacks of improvement so may well follow up.Bet a Win Double on MAMBONUMBERFIVE and KAP VERT at 12/1 with bet365About the authorJoe NorrisI’m Joe Norris, co-founder and Director of GetYourTipsOut (GYTO), which I launched in 2009 to provide daily sports betting tips, with the main focus on horse racing.
