In order to identify the rightful owners of unclaimed bank deposits in the district, a special campaign titled ‘Ningalude Panam Ningalude Avakasham’ (Your Money, Your Right) will be held on December 29 from 10.30 a.m. at Hotel Nani in Kollam.Organised by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance, the event will be inaugurated by District Collector N. Devidas and aims to return funds from accounts that have remained inactive for over 10 years.Currently, the district holds approximately ₹147.03 crore in unclaimed deposits across 6.63 lakh accounts. District lead bank authorities have said that attendees can check for any deposits owed to them at the camp, where they will receive guidance on the necessary documentation to prove ownership. If the required documents are provided, facilities will be available to help claimants secure their money.
