According to a Supreme Court judgement dated November 20, 2025, only landforms with an altitude of 100 meters and above will be considered as the Aravalli hills. Environmentalists have argued that this definition leads to the exclusion of more than 90 per cent of the range from protection, which triggered widespread concern and protest.
