Archie Gray has reacted after scoring his first senior goal for Tottenham and made an admission about the feeling inside the dressing room after a much-needed three points against Crystal Palace.Spurs had only won one of their last eight Premier League games heading into Selhurst Park and desperately needed three points to arrest their slide down the table.Even though Tottenham were missing nine players due to injuries, suspension and the AFCON, they showed real fight and defensive grit to come away with a 1-0 win from South London. The win pushes Spurs back up the table into 11th place and temporarily relieves some of the pressure that was building on Thomas Frank.Photo by Julian Finney/Getty ImagesArchie Gray reflects on ‘huge’ Tottenham winThe hero on the night for the Lilywhites was Gray, who netted his first goal for the club since his move from Leeds United 18 months ago.The 19-year-old confessed that while it was a scrappy game, the North Londoners desperately needed the three points.Speaking after the 1-0 win, Gray told BBC Sport: “That is a huge win, it was really important that we came away with three points, it’s a really important game for us. It was a scrappy game, but good that we have the three points.”When asked about the pressure that was building on the squad, the youngster responded: “I wouldn’t say it’s pressure, we are frustrated. You can feel it from the fans and everyone. We know we can do better and we have been working hard to put that right.”Gray over the moon to get his first Spurs goalGray has been widely tipped to become a big player for Tottenham in the future, and he will remember Sunday’s game for a long time for opening his account in front of goal. The midfielder, who was beaming proudly after heading the ball into the back of the net in the first half, admitted that it was an ‘incredible’ feeling and one he had been waiting for for a long time. When asked about his first senior goal, Gray responded: “It’s incredible, I don’t know how to sum it up. It’s a feeling I have been waiting for a very long time. After 112 appearances, I will give myself leeway because of the positions [I have played] but it’s an incredible feeling. I think my family will be bantering me about how I have only scored now.”READ MORE: Tottenham player ratings vs Crystal Palace as 7/10 star impresses off the benchThe post Archie Gray opens up on ‘incredible feeling’ after scoring first Tottenham goal appeared first on Spurs Web.
