By: Express News ServiceNew Delhi | December 25, 2025 06:35 AM IST 2 min readPolice recovered the murder weapon, the mini truck, and the scooter used in the crime, officers said.An 18-year-old boy was killed by two of his friends and his body was dumped in the Munak Canal in Outer North Delhi over a personal dispute stemming from the deceased being in a relationship with a cousin of the accused, officers said.The accused, Ashish (23) and Vishal Dhilod (23), both residents of Northwest Delhi’s Tikri Kalan area, were arrested following an intensive probe by the staff of the Samaypur Badli police station, DCP Hareshwar Swami stated.According to the police, on November 22, a PCR call reported that a body was floating in the Munak Canal near Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant.The body was recovered with hands and feet tied with shoelaces, a handkerchief around his neck, and three sharp injuries on the head, officers said.An FIR under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Samaypur Badli police station.“The deceased was identified as Ankit, a resident of Sadar Bazar, who had been reported missing from the Gulabi Bagh area since November 18, 2025,” officials said.Investigation revealed the murder was motivated by a personal dispute. Detailing the motive behind the crime, DCP Swami said, “Ashish was enraged because Ankit was in a relationship with Ashish’s cousin sister and refused to end contact despite multiple warnings.Story continues below this adOn how the murder played out, police said that the accused called Ankit to Tikri Kalan Metro Station, took him to a house in Gaddha Colony via scooter, drugged him, tied his limbs, and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon.
