It involves house-to-house enumeration, pre-filled forms, online submissions, and fresh verification of old voter data.The Election Commission has the power to conduct SIR whenever it deems fit as per Article 324 of the Indian Constitution. The ‘plenary powers’ granted to the ECI allow the commission to order an intensive revision whenever it finds inaccuracies in the existing rolls.Here is a step-by-step guide to check your name in draft voter roll of SIR in Chhattisgarh:Step 1: Visit the ECI Website https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll? and select ChhattisgarhStep 2: Selecting the district and constituencyThe page will display a table listing all the districts of Chhattisgarh. Click on the name of your district to proceed.A list of Assembly constituencies under the selected district will then appear. Clicking on the relevant constituency opens a Google Drive folder containing booth-level voter data in PDF format.Story continues below this adYou may also search for your name on https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/ using your EPIC Number.Step 3: Accessing booth-level PDFsThe folder contains multiple PDFs, labelled by taluka names, village names, or polling booth and part numbers. Voters should open the PDF corresponding to their polling booth.Booth numbers were mentioned on the forms issued to voters during the SIR exercise.
