The true objective of Good Governance Day, he said, is to strengthen trust between the administration and the people.Kartikeya Sharma was addressing the district-level Good Governance Day programme held at the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat in Jind, where he attended as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp and paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Rajya Sabha MP said that it was the clear vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day, as Atal ji’s entire public life was guided by transparency, democratic values, and concern for the last person standing in the social queue. He noted that India is a young nation, and for the coming generation, the ideals of Atal Bihari Vajpayee continue to remain deeply relevant. Transparency, accountability, and sensitivity in politics and administration are essential to ensure that governance truly reaches the most marginalized sections of society.Kartikeya Sharma observed that in recent years, people across several states of the country have clearly expressed their preference for stable governance, transparency, and performance-based politics. This public mandate, he said, reflects the nation’s growing expectation for responsible leadership and outcome-oriented governance rather than mere rhetoric.Referring to the Namo Shakti initiative, the Rajya Sabha MP said that the campaign, launched on September 17 on the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, places women’s health at the center of national well-being. He emphasized that when mothers and sisters are healthy, families remain strong, and a healthy family ultimately leads to a healthy nation. This initiative, he said, is continuing with the same commitment across regions.Appealing to citizens to actively participate in the initiative, Kartikeya Sharma said that timely awareness and early medical intervention for women are crucial. He also highlighted that the provision of health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per citizen by the Prime Minister reflects the government’s sensitive and people-centric approach. The Rajya Sabha MP expressed gratitude to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal, stating that under their leadership, Haryana has established strong benchmarks in good governance. Transparent administration and accountable systems, he said, are the foundation on which a developed India can be built.Concluding his address, Kartikeya Sharma said that the teachings of Atal Bihari Vajpayee should not remain limited to remembrance alone, but must be adopted in conduct, decision-making, and everyday governance practices.normalnormalThe post Good Governance means transparent delivery of Benefits to Right Citizen: RajyaSabha MP Kartikeya Sharma appeared first on Chandigarh City News.
