Also, four police personnel from the Farrukhnagar Crime Branch were transferred to the Gurgaon District Police Lines for an “impartial investigation”, police said on Saturday.Asif, a resident of Rampura in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi, was arrested by Farukhnagar Crime Branch team on December 26 from Farrukhnagar Mod.Police said Asif was kept at the Crime Branch office after his arrest. Around 3.45 pm on Friday, he allegedly tore the cover of a quilt provided to him and used it to hang himself from the grill of a ventilator. Police said they rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.On Saturday, a case was registered against unknown persons based on a complaint filed by Asif’s family members.“No evidence related to the allegations made in the complaint has been presented by the complainant… nothing has emerged so far during the investigation that is being conducted by a judicial magistrate,” a Gurgaon Police spokesperson said.“However, for an impartial investigation, four police personnel from the Farrukhnagar Crime Branch have been transferred to the Gurgaon District Police Lines,” the spokesperson said. Police said in the postmortem examination report, the cause of death has been determined as “hanging”.Police records show that since 2022, Asif had been booked in eight cases of theft – one in Delhi, three in Faridabad, and four in Gurgaon district.
