Security forces eliminated top Maoist leader Ganesh Uike and four others in Odisha's Kandhamal district. Uike, a Central Committee member, headed Maoist operations in the state. His death is a significant blow to the organization. This operation is part of a larger push to end Maoism by March 2026. Several other Maoist leaders have been killed or surrendered recently.
