Samsung DeX, the company's desktop-like interface powered by its mobile devices, has already gone through significant changes this year. Samsung is making more changes to it with One UI 8.5.Our colleagues over at SamMobile's YouTube channel have put together a video guide detailing all of the changes made to Samsung Dex in One UI 8.5 vs One UI 8.0.The video shows Samsung DeX running on a Galaxy S25 Ultra with One UI 8.5. At first glance, the Samsung DeX experience on both firmware iterations looks the same. Apps, grid lines, etc, they all appear the same, but there are some powerful changes worth pointing out. There's a switch to mirroring button in the corner. Click on it and switches to mirroring your mobile device on the big screen, click once again and it switches back to DeX. There's also a lock button which locks up the workspace behind your passcode. Screen recording was possible on One UI 8.0 DeX, with One UI 8.5 you get the option for partial screen recording, enabling you to choose which part of the screen you'd like to record. The biggest change is the support for multiple desktops. This feature has been present on Galaxy tablets running One UI 8.0 so it's great to see that Samsung is bringing it over to the smartphones with One UI 8.5.Check out the full video below for a more in-depth look at all of the Samsung DeX changes that One UI 8.5 brings.
