In response, the administration deployed enforcement teams in multiple shifts to restore order in the market.According to officials, an enforcement (tehbazari) team has been assigned morning duties, while an evening-to-night shift has been permanently deployed from 7 pm onwards under the supervision of Superintendent Mandeep Singh.Giving details, the superintendent said, “This morning, all re-hari vendors operating in parking areas and illegal encroachments by shopkeepers, beyond their verandas into parking spaces, have been removed.”The superintendent said, “Police personnel have been deployed during night hours to keep a strict watch on people arriving in cars to sell food items and those involved in other illegal activities. During the day, anti-encroachment drives were also carried out not only in Phase 3B2, but also in Phase 5, Phase 6, and other areas, where a large number of illegal encroachments and street vendors were removed.”Joint Commissioner Jasjit Singh said, “Strict instructions have now been issued. Earlier, seized goods were returned, but now, confiscated goods would not be released. Only then can this problem be permanently resolved.
