We took in a stray many years ago. She hated people and wanted nothing to do with us, but loved and adored our other two cats. One day, after having her for 4 years, she jumped on my lap and purred. I never put her down…I was so excited. Now, 10 years later, she is glued to us. She follows us from room to room, sleeps smooshed between my husband and I, and has been the best kitty in the world. She’s got kidney failure now and isn’t much longer for this world, but that cat’s love has changed me. I love her so much, and she has lived a very long life full of pampering and joy. Just give it time. When you least expect it, you’ll get an unexpected cuddle that will fill your heart, too.
