Ambedkar Porata Samithi’s State president Soru Sambayya on Monday (December 29, 2025) urged the government to allocate at least three acres of land for each Scheduled Caste family to uplift them and ensure a decent life for them. He said that 15 lakh acres of barren land can be used for the distribution which would benefit nearly 1.7 crore SC population in the State.Ambedkar Porata Samithi and other organizations staged a protest at Vizianagaram to demand the government for the distribution of lands to SC families as per the recommendations of Koneru Ranga Rao Committee which submitted its report two decades ago to the then government.Speaking on the occasion, he urged the Union government to give necessary directions to A.P. and other States with regard to land distribution since it was the wish of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who dreamt of improving economic standards of Dalit people in the country. “We are planning massive agitation in Jantar-Mantar of New Delhi very soon to draw the attention of the Union government since a majority of the State governments had ignored the welfare of the Dalit people. The association will also fight for implementation of welfare schemes through A.P. Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation which was not sanctioned adequate funds to support needy Dalits in the State,” Mr. Sambayya said.
