City Light’s City Girl Leads Brown Exacta in Beaugay

Wait 5 sec.

She missed her entire 2025 season, but City Girl (Fr) (City Light {Fr}) has made good use of her 5-year-old campaign thus far as she scores her first North American stakes win in the GIII Beaugay Stakes.Breaking her maiden and defeating allowance competition in her native France before missing a win in the Prix Caravelle Haras des Granges by a neck, that stakes race turned out to be her last in Europe. She was exported to the States after that contest and resurfaced at Tampa Bay almost 22 months later in early February this year. The mare was last seen defeating optional claiming company Mar. 29 at that venue. In no rush after the gates opened, City Girl was content to watch the action unfold from along the fence as Mo Fox Given (Mo Town) set the tempo. Still in cover on the far bend after six panels in 1:13.12, City Girl was waiting for running room as they swung for home. Switched to the outside as the longtime pacesetter began fading on the inland path, City Girl got first jump on her stablemate Dynamic Pricing (Ire) (Night of Thunder {Ire}) to score and give Flavien prat his second victory on the afternoon. The final time was 1:42.61. CITY GIRL gets her first stakes win in the Grade 3 Beaugay Stakes under Flavien Prat for trainer Chad Brown. pic.twitter.com/DhyI6JNfgG— NYRA () (@TheNYRA) May 3, 2026The post City Light’s City Girl Leads Brown Exacta in Beaugay appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
