Jamaican dancehall star Spice has arrived in Uganda ahead of her much-anticipated concert scheduled for May 9 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.The artist touched down early Monday morning aboard Uganda Airlines and immediately expressed excitement about both her performance and her stay in the country.“I’m so excited to finally be in Uganda. The singer is set to tour some of Uganda’s most iconic attractions, including Murchison Falls National Park, the Source of the Nile, Bulange, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, and Entikko Safari Lodge, where she will enjoy a game drive and other wildlife experiences. She is also expected to immerse herself in Kampala’s nightlife and sample local cuisine, including Uganda’s famous Rolex.Speaking on behalf of UTB, Marketing Manager Francis Nyende highlighted the broader significance of the visit:“Hosting international stars like Spice gives us a unique platform to showcase Uganda as a diverse and attractive tourism destination. Through her experiences, we are able to promote the beauty, culture, and hospitality that define the Pearl of Africa to a global audience,” Nyende said.Uganda’s tourism is rapidly rebounding in 2026, positioning itself as a premier, sustainable, and adventure-focused lifestyle destination. The sector is hitting record highs, with 1.66 million international arrivals and $1.7 billion in revenue in 2025, driven by gorilla trekking, adventure sports, and unique cultural experiences, signaling a shift toward high-value, quality experiences.The concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval is expected to attract thousands of revelers.
