We wanted to finish the season strong and we couldn’t have imagined a better result,” Vitek said after the game. “It’s been an amazing season for me. There have of course been ups and downs but that is football. “I want to thank everyone who voted as it means a lot to me as it reflects on the performances and so I really appreciate it.“The fans have been unbelievable. I could hear them all game singing my name.”Vitek’s future past this summer uncertainVitek is expected to return to Old Trafford next season, but for how long remains to be seen. “Look, now at the moment it’s really hard to tell for me,” he explained when asked about his future on Friday ahead of the Stoke game. What does the future hold for me?“We will see what the options will be and what Manchester United will want to do with me: if they want to keep me there, sell me, loan me. At the moment, I can’t really speak much about the future because I don’t even know. “It’s really hard, but I’ve enjoyed every moment here. I really like the club. We will see.”The Red Devils brought in Senne Lammens last summer from Royal Antwerp on an £18 million move to be their number one, allowing Andre Onana to leave for Trabzonspor on loan shortly afterwards. In 28 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper has kept six clean sheets and conceded just 35 goals as United sit in command of a return to Champions League football after two seasons. With Lammens having established himself as United’s undisputed number one, and Vitek showing he is too good to be a backup, the Czech keeper’s future is certainly one to watch.
