PN leader, Alex Borg outlined a series of proposals focused on reducing the cost of living, with a key pledge to cut energy bills by an average of 30% while retaining existing subsidies. The plan also includes a national network of modern hospitals, with new facilities proposed in the north of Malta and Gozo, the conversion of the Paola Hub into a hospital, and further investment in Mater Dei Hospital.Additional measures target workers, students and families. These include a 25% increase in stipends, up to €1,000 per month for healthcare students, a €5,000 child trust fund for every child, and tax exemptions on the first €10,000 earned from part-time or overtime work. The PN also proposed a 0% tax rate for five years for Maltese healthcare professionals returning to work locally, alongside free physical and mental health screening.Borg criticised the government over the use of state resources and ongoing cost of living pressures, while calling on Labour voters and non-voters to consider change. What do you make of these proposals?•
