Manchester United are ready to sign three new midfielders this summer if a suitable offer arrives for Manuel Ugarte.Ugarte has struggled to make an impact at Manchester United since signing from Paris Saint-Germain in a £51m deal in 2024. The Uruguayan has fallen out of favour this season and has started just eight games in the Premier League. There is interest in Ugarte from England, Spain and Italy ahead of the summer window. United want a fee of at least £25m for the 25-year-old, a figure which would see the Red Devils ‘break even’ under PSR rules. However, journalist Samuel Luckhurst has said that United are willing to keep Ugarte as a fourth-choice if a suitable offer does not arrive. Interim manager Michael Carrick, despite no decision made on his future beyond this summer, is involved in the recruitment process. The priority targets for Manchester United are Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali of Newcastle, while there is long-standing interest in Brighton’s Carlos Baleba. Adam Wharton, of Crystal Palace, is another who has been tracked.Alongside that quartet, United are also monitoring a ‘second tier’ of more affordable midfielders to boost their stocks. On that shortlist is Atalanta’s Ederson, who is valued at around €40m. Premier League-based options include Mateus Fernandes, Alex Scott and Joao Gomes.Read – Sesko stats shows summer signing settling at Man UnitedSee more – Premier League players have scored and assisted 10+ goals in all competitions this seasonFollow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post Manchester United ready to sign three midfielders in summer first appeared on The Football Faithful.
