Autorickshaw driver held in Vellore over murder charges - The HinduPublished - May 03, 2026 11:25 pm IST - VELLOREA 32-year-old autorickshaw driver was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a mason at M.V. Kuppam near Pernambut town in Vellore on Sunday over a petty quarrel.The arrested person was identified as S. Mani, a native of M.V. Kuppam. He was an autorickshaw driver in the village. The victim B. Gajendran (52), a mason, also belongs to the village. Initial inquiry revealed that suspect Mani got into an argument with a local AIADMK functionary S. Balaji (43) for not giving money to him on April 23, the polling day. As Balaji ignored him, Mani got agitated and thrashed him.
