Cesc Fabregas should give some serious consideration to whether or not he should fill the Chelsea vacancy. That’s the view of Ally McCoist, with the former Blue being one name linked to the head coach role at Stamford Bridge this summer.Chelsea could look to make Fabregas their new head coach amid his success at ComoGettyFabregas, who won two Premier League titles with Chelsea as a player, has made an impressive start to his coaching career at Como. The former Spanish international has them sitting fifth in Serie A and a point adrift of Champions League qualification with three to play.He may therefore be set for plenty of outside interest in the summer, with Chelsea undergoing their search for a new appointment.Liam Rosenior was sacked last month after their 3-0 loss at Brighton, and Calum McFarlane is in interim charge until the end of the season.Owners BlueCo, who took over in 2022, are now looking for their fifth permanent head coach, and Fabregas is a speculated option.Speaking to The Telegraph, he left the door open for a Chelsea return by saying: “Football is so unpredictable, it changes in one second.”However, he also hinted that he could stay at Como for ten years, and McCoist has urged him to take caution if Chelsea do come calling. “If you’re a Chelsea fan, you’d bite your hand off for that,” he said on talkSPORT Breakfast. “If you’re Cesc Fabregas, I think you’re weighing up that situation extremely carefully, because of what’s going on up at the top. “He’s done a great job there, what a job at Como, fantastic, and I don’t think there’s any doubt that he will manage in the top flight in England sooner rather than later.McCoist believes Fabregas should think very carefully about the Chelsea jobGetty“But is Chelsea, right now, the perfect job for Cesc Fabregas? As I mentioned earlier, Chelsea fans will probably be salivating at the prospect of him coming in and taking it, and so they should be. “But, I think there’s warning signs at Chelsea. He’ll have had a look at what’s happened recently, he can’t have failed to have noticed that it might not be the perfect environment for him to start his career in England.”McCoist added: “You look at Chelsea at the moment… they’ve got to win tonight (against Nottingham Forest) to get European football,“It’s remarkable what’s happened at Chelsea in the last three or four months, it really, really is. You sometimes use the word ‘shambles’ too regularly, but you’ve got to question what’s happened at the club.“The players, you go back to ‘huddlegate’, everything about it… it’s just not been good at all for Chelsea. And if I was Cesc Fabregas, I’d be very, very wary of that situation. “Not to say he wouldn’t take it, he’d clearly have to have a good chat with the owners, but I don’t think it’d be as clear-cut as maybe some people would think.”Fabregas was a huge fan favourite at Stamford BridgeGettyWho’s in the running for the Chelsea job?Although Fabregas is an option, talkSPORT previously reported that Andoni Iraola is a leading candidate for the Chelsea head coach job.Iraola will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season and is highly regarded by Blues co-owner Behdad Eghbali. The Chelsea hierarchy also admire Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe, with Marco Silva of Fulham also an option.Club legend Frank Lampard is also a rumoured name after he won the Championship title with Coventry City.
