Good for you for standing your ground on this. I was taken advantage of this way A LOT when I was a churchgoer. At one point I was the “kingdom videographer” and filmed everyone’s weddings and other church events for super cheap or free. At first I just felt like I was doing my part in giving my talents to God but in the end I was so burnt out. The last straw was when I pitched a video series and when the idea was approved, produced the first “episode” completely by myself with no money, and they suddenly pretended this concept or content never existed. And they asked me to do some other time & labor demanding stuff as if I wasn’t already working on the series. I just dropped it all and eventually left the church.
