normalnormalnormal The efforts to spread the divine message of the Gita, which was delivered by Lord Shri Krishna on the holy land of Kurukshetra in Haryana, reached a new milestone today when the International Gita Mahotsav was organized in Japan. On this historic occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated as the Chief Guest and conveyed the message of India’s eternal culture and spirituality to the world.In his address, the Chief Minister said the Gita is not merely a religious scripture, but a philosophy of life. The teachings of Karma Yoga, truth, duty, and inner strength contained in it are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. He said the aim of the Haryana Government is to spread the universal principles of the Gita to every corner of the world, so that humanity can find the path of peace, harmony, and cooperation.He said with the efforts of India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the International Gita Mahotsav is being organized on Japanese soil. He said over 5,162 years ago, Lord Shri Krishna delivered the immortal message of the Gita on the sacred land of Kurukshetra. Every year, countless devotees gather in Kurukshetra on the occasion of Gita Jayanti to express their reverence for this divine message.He further said that the International Gita Mahotsav has now been celebrated in several countries outside India, including Mauritius, London, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, the UK, and Indonesia. Continuing this tradition, the Ministry of External Affairs is now organizing the festival through Indian embassies in 40 countries. Ancient Cultural Bonds Between Japan and IndiaNayab Singh Saini said that Japan and India share a relationship that dates back centuries. Buddhism reached Japan in the 6th century from India, and since then, the people of both nations have shared deep cultural ties. He added that the Gita is a divine beacon of light that transcends time, place, and boundaries. Though the wisdom of the Gita was delivered in India by Lord Shri Krishna, it belongs to the entire world. It is not a scripture of any one religion but a guide for all of humanity. Solutions to 21st-Century Challenges Lie in the Bhagavad Gita The Chief Minister said that, in terms of life management, the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is the greatest scripture in the world. Moreover, the Gita has provided guidance to scholars in the fields of science, management, and medicine. He emphasized that the solutions to all the problems of the 21st century lie within the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. By embracing the Gita’s teachings in daily life, universal harmony can be achieved. A careful reading of the Gita reveals that its core message is for a person to perform his duties righteously, act justly, and uphold social order.Nayab Singh Saini said that organizing the Gita Mahotsav in Japan is proof that Haryana’s cultural heritage is transcending borders to spread the message of spiritual unity and global peace across the world. Highlighting Haryana’s strong potential in manufacturing sectors including equipment, industrial components, metalworking, as well as automotive, auto parts, and electronics, he emphasized that collaboration with Japan in these areas would greatly boost business growth.Mediation for the Nation’ Campaign Achieves Remarkable Success in Haryana The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court of India, successfully conducted the “Mediation for the Nation” campaign across India for 90 days. Under the guidance of Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and Executive Chairman, NALSA & MCPC, the campaign aimed to promote mediation as an effective alternative dispute resolution mechanism.The campaign witnessed remarkable participation from litigants, advocates, mediators, and members of the public. The initiative was implemented in coordination with all State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs) and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) throughout India.In Haryana, the campaign was carried out under the leadership of Chief Justice Sheel Nagu, Patron-in-Chief, Haryana State Legal Services Authority and Justice Lisa Gill, Executive Chairperson, Haryana State Legal Services Authority. All District Legal Services Authorities actively organized mediation sittings, awareness camps, and public interactions to promote peaceful settlement of disputes. A large number of Motor Accident Claim cases, matrimonial cases, commercial disputes, criminal compoundable cases, debt recovery cases, land acquisition cases, domestic violence cases, cheque bouncing cases, and civil dispute cases were resolved amicably through mutual understanding. In Haryana, 1503 cases across various categories, pending since long in District Courts of Haryana were settled.  Moreover, 3880 cases were settled at pre-litigative stage through mediation which received from police stations, electricity departments, commercial disputes etc.The successful conclusion of this nationwide campaign marks a significant step towards realizing NALSA’s objective of “Access to Justice for All” and reinforces the role of mediation as a preferred means for dispute resolution.Haryana Cabinet meeting now on October 11 The meeting of the Haryana Cabinet, to be chaired by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, will now be held on October 11 at 3:00 PM at the Haryana Civil Secretariat.A revised notice in this regard has been issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi.It is noteworthy that earlier, the Cabinet meeting was scheduled to be held on October 9 at 11:00 AM at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi.Haryana to Train 1,200 Statistical Personnel to Strengthen Data InfrastructureThe Haryana Government will implement a comprehensive training programme for 1,200 statistical assistants and officers, aimed at strengthening the state’s data collection and analysis capabilities. The initiative was approved during a State Implementation Committee (SIC) meeting under the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) sub-scheme, presided over by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi.The programme is designed to establish a strong statistical ecosystem that ensures policy decisions are grounded in accurate and timely data. District Statistical Officers across Haryana have identified approximately 50 participants per district for specialized training sessions focused on data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting methodologies. The government has allocated a budget of approximately ₹18 lakh to cover training materials, venue arrangements, and expert honorariums.Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi emphasized the critical importance of continuous capacity building and inter-departmental coordination in advancing the state’s development agenda.During the meeting, Special Secretary, Finance Department, Dr. Jainder Singh Chhilar outlined several key surveys and studies to be undertaken, including the collection of financial data from rural and urban local bodies, compilation of state-specific Consumer Price Index (CPI) for both rural and urban populations, assessment of cultivation costs for fodder crops, and compilation of wholesale price data for livestock products.To ensure research excellence, the government is partnering with premier academic institutions like Kurukshetra University. An initial consultation has already been conducted with Prof. Archna Chaudhary of Kurukshetra University regarding the CPI survey.The Department of Economic and Statistical Affairs (DESA) serves as the nodal agency for implementing the scheme. Haryana has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) for a grant totaling ₹5.09 crore.The first instalment of ₹55.73 lakh has been substantially utilized to modernize the state’s IT infrastructure through procurement of computers, printers, and tablets. A second installment of ₹13.93 lakh was released in November 2024 to sustain these enhancement efforts.The meeting underscored Haryana’s commitment to developing a modern, transparent, and efficient statistical infrastructure.
